Kendra Marcus is a Licensed Master’s Social Worker, currently pursuing her LCSW in the state of Georgia.
In December of 2019, Kendra obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Kennesaw State University with a minor in African & African Diaspora Studies. As of May 2022, she received a Master of Social Work from Georgia State University. Ms. Marcus is originally from New York & born into a Panamanian-American family. She understands the importance of being a supportive figure for those facing unique challenges stemming from traumatic experiences.
Kendra’s mental health background began as a recovery coach in a residential treatment facility, supporting adolescents and adults with eating disorders. Kendra’s primarily therapeutic approaches involve Client-centered, Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), & Psychodynamic therapy. While open to furthering her knowledge of different therapeutic approaches, Ms. Marcus is dedicated to being a well-rounded therapist who contributes to creating a safe space for clients. She has a passion for serving underrepresented groups in the community while guiding them towards overcoming obstacles and embracing the best versions of themselves.
“I aim to be not only a trusting figure for clients but an active listener who steers from invalidating their feelings. In a society where practicing patience requires much effort, the results provide lifelong rewards while reshaping our perspective of the world—acknowledging our frustrations (failures) just as much as we would our accomplishments. We build onto our character while developing perseverance. To meet clients halfway is my goal to ensure they are taking the right steps towards a healthy way of coping while receiving unconditional positive regard.”
